While I appreciate all the cool people of the world who major in things like TV/radio, studio painting, music composition or any of those artistic majors, I can’t stand knowing that they’ve got it easier than the rest of the world in terms of work in college.
I know, all areas of study and practice have their own levels of difficulty. But that’s just it. Someone who majors in music theory does do a lot of work, but at least it’s fun and creative. Those of us, including myself, who major in things like accounting, marketing, business management (my major), we have to deal with classes that are, while practical, dry and boring material packed classes that are stupid hard to pass. I’ve experienced this with finite math, business calculus and now accounting and advanced microeconomics.
I’m not doing so hot this term despite my efforts, so maybe I’m just complaining that things aren’t easier for me. But that doesn’t change the fact that I wish I could at least have fun when I’m learning all this stuff. Painting, composing music, working on lighting for a play, that’s work but it’s at least interesting.
I really wish that I found all real-world, typical job, business information and classes to be at least somewhat interesting…
