The Whole Ball of Wax

nanalew:

When Harry is all like, “The greatest witches and wizards started off as little more than we are now” (paraphrase, k). Well, take away the wizardry bit, and the exact same thing applies to you and me.

Everyone starts off as a kid without a clue. Why not be someone who does something about it?…

Become someone. Some day kids somewhere might wonder if you ever felt small like them. And the ones who realize you did might become something better because of it.

It’s just something I think about on the occasions when I feel like I’m “not good enough” to do whatever big, insane, or noteworthy thing I’m considering at the time. It really keeps me in the game.

Anyway,

Now go away so I can go back to doing nothing.

I WILL NOT GO AWAY because I have to say that I completely agree with this :D I’m currently planning a feature length zombie flick that will be mostly funded out of pocket, will have an ensemble cast of 6, and a cast of extras (both people and zombies) of more than 100 people. It’s going to be a difficult project that’s going to take a ton of time and effort to complete, but I know that I can do it cause people like David Fincher, Christopher Nolan, the Coen Brothers, Wes Anderson—all the big people. They started out with just an idea and I know that I can get my own crazy  idea to fly.

Ok. I go nao.

Year Long Project

A little while ago, I decided that I wanted to start a little personal project.

I’ve always been ridiculously obsessed with notebooks, journals, etc. since as long as I can remember. I blame the show Doug for it’s wonderful influences on me. So I’ve got this one really super wide, college ruled notebook by 5-star that I found in my room. Completely new and unused. I thought to myself, why not fill it?

So since then, it’s become a goal of mine to fill every single page of that notebook within a year of the first entry. I’m going to fill it with thoughts and stories that I’ll be comfortable with literally anyone reading.

Now some of you may be thinking, why is this any different than blogging? In fact, it’s kinda worse since it’s not even on the internet for others to read, right? Well if you are thinking that, I do have a sort of weird justification for it. Writing words, by hand, with a pen, on paper. That’s something that no keyboard, touch screen, website, or any other modern technology can change or completely replace. I like taking the time to hand write thoughts. I write differently by hand than I do typing because it takes so much longer.

That, and my other reason for doing it is because each entry so far has been an average 6 or more paragraphs, so I figure not too many people on Tumblr would want to read them xD

So yea, that’s my plan. A message to whoever is reading: Try this out. Maybe not for a year if you don’t want—try a week. Or a month. Make some goal that involves physically writing down what you’re thinking because it’s a helluva fun experience.
